Cole Harper is an experienced operator and entrepreneur with a particular focus on strategy formulation and execution. Cole grew up in St. Louis and specialized in Finance at the University of Missouri. After college, Cole relocated to Chicago and began working at Accenture, providing IT consultancy services to prestigious financial firms, such as JP Morgan Chase, where Cole led an offshore development team to complete the release of a global administration tool. Cole joined Citadel Investment Group where he focused on big data management and worked with various trading desks to build automated trading algorithms and predictive analytics.
In 2010, Cole founded SceneTap LLC, which would install foot traffic sensors and customer demographics technologies in nightlife establishments. SceneTap would have a three-tier value proposition, including a real-time social media application for users, a back-end administration tool for business operators, and a data suite for third parties who wished to view the information collected. Cole led SceneTap to a number of awards and significant recognitions, including 2012 SXSW Social Media Company of the Year (Finalist), 2013 Chicago Innovation Awards (Winner), 2013 Chicago’s 1871 Award for Coolest Startup (Winner), 2013 Best App Technology (Global Appster Winner), and a number of other achievements.
With a niche focus on nightlife and hospitality establishments, SceneTap decided to become the preeminent data provider in the liquor industry. In doing so, it acquired BarVision, a technology company that specialized in proprietary liquor management systems, in 2014. Cole now serves as the CEO of DoorStat in a full-time capacity.
